Janet's Story
I have 4 grown children, 3 sons, and one daughter. age 34, 30, 25, and daughter 28. One grand-daughter, Samantha. I am married to my Highschool love John for 35 yrs. Wow, That is a high #!!! LOL . I ran a business for 16 yrs, whil raising the children, and advocating for my daughters education, as she has special needs. Anyone who has a child with sp. needs knows it is a never ending battle. Even as she is an adult now, living at home with us, Her everyday needs and challenging behaviors due to inability to communicate is very consuming. Yet, we are honored to have ...Expand for more
her as our daughter, she truly is a teacher in life to everyone she is involved with. She is Blind , hearing impaired and does not speak. Although communicating to us through gestures and limited signing. She has enhanced her brothers lives as well. We are proud of our sons, and our daughter. Now I advocate for group homes in neighborhoods, and try to educate the population in acceptance , and welcoming some extaordinary people into their lives. We never know what God has in store for us. But I am certainly grateful for picking us to parent her. God Bless us all!
