Janet's Story
Well, about 34 years ago I married a wonderful red-haired, green-eyed Welshman who had been bitten by the corporate travel bug ... so off we went. We were transferred to San Francicso in 1976, then to Seattle in 1980 - just in time for Mt. St. Helen's to blow. We lived on the Puget Sound aboard a 50-foot trawler from 1982 until 1990. In 1990 an idiot doctor mis-diagnosed my husband with cancer. Did I mention he was an idiot? After we realized he was okay we took a good, long look at our lives and decided to make some changes. So we sold almost everything we owned, stored what we couldn't sell, and moved to St. John in the Virgin Islands for 6 months to re-evaluate...Expand for more
. When it came time to actually start earning a living again we moved to South Florida and bought a home in Cape Coral. I love it here - hurricanes notwithstanding. My husband is now retired from real estate and I got involved with administrative software programs. After 11 years of hard work I was just laid off - along with over 100 other employees. I've decided it's just another "re-evaluation" period, so I'm taking the summer off without worrying about it. I'll look and see what's available maybe in September. Maybe. We've never had children, but we've been blessed with many wonderful siamese cats, 8 nieces and nephews, and (so far) 6 grand-nephews and nieces.
