Janet's Story
Life's update Jun/23/15
As with the last entry, Life..... "Always changing"! I am now almost divorced, never thought that would be a part of my life, but oh well, I guess I'm not alone. My daughter is almost 23 years old and moved when she was 21. She's the most awesome part of my life and I love watching her life unfold. I live alone, oh pardon me, I live with my two absolutely adorable Shih Tzu's, Ruby & Scooter and a lovely cockatiel, Tweetie! Yes, when the husband left and my daughter left, I got left with the kids! I love them and they keep me company. I still have my mom. She is now in a nursing home which wasn't the case the last time I wrote. She is a very sweet, fragile lady and though she has dementia, she still has a sense of humour and a sparkle in her eye! I love her very much!
I contemplate moving somewhere else in the city. I am still living in the home where I lived with my Ex and raised our daughter in. I think I need to have a change of scenery and move beyond these walls.
I keep in touch with a few of our PW alumni on Facebook. So many doing so well. Unfortunately if you didn't know we lost our classmate Robert "Suds" Sutherland December 28, 2014 to esophageal cancer. He left this world a very loved man and many of our classmates were there in person and in spirit to follow him through his journey. It was amazing to see him so wrapped in friendship, family and the love of us all. His roommate even managed to bring Rob's cat, Binky, into the hospital a few times to visit with Rob. I think that lifted him so much. Many of us strengthened our friendships, coming together through Rob. Rest in Peace dear friend.
If you'd like to get in touch, you can find me on Facebook, Janet Zed. It would be nice to meet up with some of you again!
Bye for now, Jan

ng many health issues as well as severe short term memory loss. I must say I very much miss working at the medical office that I ran for 29 years, that gave me a fulfillment I don't think I even realized! Now what do I want to do when I grow up? 52 is a snap but still I wonder how I got here!Hopefully wisdom has come with this journey. Thankfully I don't look my age and hopefully I don't act my age either!!!
As much as I'm a huge crafter, I haven't been doing much in the world of fiber arts, knitting, weaving or spinning lately. Just too many other things but my mind is there and my creative mind is calling me to start creating my jewellery once again.
Ashley, my daughter is now going into grade 11. She's very much involved in volunteer work too which I'm very proud of. She's spending so much time away from home, Still considering a dog but have not acted on that yet! Ashley went to New York this past fall with school and just got back from England with a UBC exchange program. The kids have so many opportunities these days. It's awesome!
We still live on the West Side and have found that many PW alumni are in the area too. Many of my friends and aquaintances from Lord Kitchener, Lord Byng, Point Grey and Magee, still keep roots in our community!
The PW Class of 74 - 35th Reunion Committee is hard at work planning for our 2009 summer event! I hope you all can come so we can get re-aquainted after all these years. I'd love to hear from anyone who still remembers me! It's really great hearing what people are up to and what journey our lives have taken.
Look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the reunion!
Bye for now, Janet Zarowny

Polly Weinstein, my most inspiring teacher, passed away Feb/14/06 and this incredibly motivating and phenomenal woman will be fondly remembered by many of us at Prince of Wales. A celebration of her life was held Saturday, Mar4/06.
