Janet's Story
This has been an interesting last few years to say the least. I've relocated to Texas from California after 29 years at the coast, we adopted a little girl from Ca., she's almost 10, started a new career, dabble in the old, changed habitats completely. From beach front to lots of acreage with tons of trees,to back in town with neighbors closer than 1/2 mile away, finalized a divorce, still trying to heal from that horrific experience, trying to keep up with my teenage daughter who is gifted and athletic and discovering myself all over again. In some ways it sucks, but thanks to my faith I know I'm not alone. Went from having a brown thumb to planting a 5 acre vineyard that was harvested last last July. The little town we live in is such a change for all of us, I actually run into people I know in the grocery store and EVENTS are attended by all. here. Reminds me a little of Chandler many years ago. Came back to visit friends couple years ago, did not recognize anything. So sad, and sad to learn of the passing of a few dear friends. Life is very busy for us right now, last Dec. I bought a home for my girls and I and 3 dogs (all girls). I've been remodeling and updating it and been having so much fun, even bought myself a drill and sander! I'm also a Gold Member to Lowe's, just kidding. Still discovering myself. My sister and her hubby live near so see them occasionally! I've learned what makes me happy and as silly as that sounds, it isn't the degrees, jobs, possesions, or status, it's knowing I've loved my friends unconditionally and they me in return. That and a glass of wine on the porch in the rain storms with my brood is heaven on earth. God has blessed us with a good life and thru happy times and heartache, I will remain His faithful servant.
