Life After college I went to graduate school to get my teaching credentials. I became an elementary school teacher. I worked in private schools because public schools weren't hiring. I had great experiences but decided that I wanted to jump to something more lucrative. After more college, I became a programmer. I worked in several banks and brokerage houses in NYC. Because of true networking, I ended up as a clinical trials programmer (BA in biology qualified me for this). Professionally, I have been going back and forth between computers and training people about them. I started my own consulting company (Left Hand Computing) and had been doing consulting work for a few years. I took a permanent job with a software company where I had the opportunity to combine my creativity from my teaching days with my technical knowledge from my programming days. During this time, I was also able to train people how to use technology in the best way. It is not a training position but the closest thing there is to it. Lots of changes in my profession have been interesting and rewarding. For me, there is nothing greater than learning something new and sharing it with others.
