Janet's Story
Life
After high school got an RN degree at Yale-New Haven. Worked for awhile then bummed around Europe. Started college at 23 (put myself through by working in hospitals). Got a BA from Trinity in 82. Bummed around the South Pacific for 6 months. Married (check him out at MichaelBerube.com) and had two kids while getting my MA/PhD from U Virginia (finished 92). (tenured in 99); we've been teaching at Penn State since 01. It's beautiful here, and a fast ride to NYC. Older son just graduated high school. Younger son has Down syndrome (a sweetie) and will soon be 13. I still love New Haven and visit often--my big wonderful family is still in the area.
