Life
Married, 2 Children (Girl 16 years old & Boy 14 years old). Worked for the FBI, 20 years, Obtained a High Honors Technical Degree in Microcomputers and Microcoprocessors, along with over 60+ Technical and Management Certifications from various testing (prometric) facilities.
Workplace
I began working at the FBI in 1987, after working locally in Waldorf, Maryland, at Waldorf Supply, Inc. I initially started working at the FBI as a clerk, then immediately began rising into various different positions until finally finding something that would satisfy my need for learning and not leave me "bored", which was the Computer Field. After 3 years, of becoming a Computer Specialist, at the Washington Field Office, I was selected to be the "First Non-Agent" in Charge of Automation within the field Office. I replaced 3 Special Agents, and was in charge of the entire offices' network/stand-alone environment, along with managing all of the Computer Specialist assigned in the division, Training of all personnel (which exceeds of 2,100 employees), etc. I was also selected as on...Expand for more
e of six, nationwide, FBI's Deputy Director's Technical Advisors, of which I served during 1998, 1999 & 2000, of which both of these Deputy Directors ended up being the "acting" Director of the FBI, while I was serving in this capacity.
Additionally, I was also awarded by Government Computer News, and the FBI, for the best FBI's Web Design of Intranet/ Internet sites, of which I created in my "spare" time.
...but as such goes -- I have learned within the past years, Family is "WHAT MATTERS", and I was neglecting my children and setting myself up in a "Political Arena".
My life has changed "MUCH" in the past few years -- and I have a few words of advice: "Don't think that your 'family' is/will always be there, despite you goals." -- Fortunately, for me, I have been VERY LUCKY, and my family has stayed together, despite the triumphs that we've been through from my "career".
I am now working as an IT/Finance Manager for a non-profit and love it!! I can now be there for my family (which is needed with 2 teenagers...YIKES), but also for my organization..it's a Win-Win!!
