Janet's Story
Life
After high school, I went on to Junior college then moved to Fresno and attended Fresno State graduating with a BS degree in Nursing. My last year in college I met my husband (Ray) and we married in 1985.I went to work at the County Hospital & Ray worked for the City as a Civil Engineer. Our first child was born in 1987 and is now in his second year of College. Our second child arrived in 2000 ( a bit of an age difference).
I worked for the County Hospital for 16 years as well as taught Nursing and C.N.A classes for Fresno City College for 9 years. Who'd have ever guessed that I'd be an Instructor!
I also spent 5 years working at the Fresno Surgery Center.
Our family loves the outdoors and spends much time in the mountains camping and fishing. Every year we try to go on a camping trip with my parents who are still very active in the San Pablo community.
Recently Ray accepted the position of Public Works Director for the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Ca. so, we left Fresno and have relocated to Mammoth. I still can...Expand for more
't believe we're here! Every morning I wake to the sun coming up over the mountains. A far cry from the fog and smog of Fresno. It's also the first time I've lived in snow. The weekend we moved in was the biggest storm they've seen in 10 years (figures!)
I started work at the clinic 3 days a week so far I'm enjoying it.
We have 3 cats, a dog and a bearded dragon lizzard that made the move with us. The fish had to stay in Fresno.
I hope everyone is doing well- I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch, and that I missed the reunion.Maybe the next one!
Update: We've been here 1 1/2 years now. Brad, our son graduated and is moving to San Marcos to attend Cal State San Marcos. Natalie is entering the 1st grade. I'm still at the Clinic but am starting to do some Staff education a few hours a week. Ray loves his job and we are all enjoying mountain living! This year we had another record snowfall! over 600 inches! We were wondering if spring would ever come! Summers here are beautiful but to short!
