Hey everybody! I have been happily married to Joe for 36 years (as of May, 08)and we have 4 great kids (2 boys, 2 girls). The oldest three are married and are in education; our youngest daughter graduated from nursing school in May 08. We just had our first grandbaby (grandson Evan) on April 22, 08 and we are loving it! I still haven't come up with a "cool" grandma name but it definitely won't be "grandma!" We have lived in North Carolina for 26 years and love it here. We're very active with our church, our family, and friends. My husband works many hours and travels a lot, so we "unwind" at our little place we have on the lake. I love anything that involves the water! The lake only comes in second to going to the ocean (an hour and 20 minutes away!). We love "Tarheel" basketball, but the only football team for me will always be Bama. We watch all the games!!! Roll tide! Forever #1 -- no matter what the scoreboard reads. w important football is in Alabama, but I don't think anyone outside Alabama state boundaries really understands fully.
My parents still live in Birmingham, and we go back to visit periodically. EHS has not looked the same since we graduated and everybody scattered! (Remember playing our "home" games at Legion Field, boys getting "haircut" notices, Coach Sparks, the bomb scares, "dressing out" for girls' gym in those lovely blue 'uniforms' with our names monogrammed!; riding through Shoney's to see who was there with who, pep rallies with "Be True to your School/Beach Boys; the pep band playing Dixie at the pep rallies; and many other things). Seems like another lifetime! ha However, I can remember all of your names better than I can a lot of other things! Oh me--signs of the time. I'm not a gold member, so I can't read any guestbook entries, but whenever I do decide to "bite the bullet" -- please leave me a message now so I can finally read it. Best wishes to everyone.
