Janet's Story
Life
I graduated from Coldwater HS in 1953 comming from Beaver Dam Wis. in 1951,and went on to Western Mich. Univ. and got a BS in elementary ed. I met my husband while there, Marion Sanderson We were both in the band. He a music major. We were married in 1957. We have 4 children. Dan,has a pool cleaning business in Phoenix. Deborah, majored in ballet and educ. married to a plastic surgeon. 3 children. Calista, devorced, one daughter, hair dresser in LA doing a lot of cleb's hair. Joel, married, no children. al in Grand Rapids. While there we came to his home farm in Quincy MI for the summers and weekends to help his dad. In 1969 we bought an ajoining farm and spent the summers and weekends there until 1978 when we moved there permnamently and I went back to teaching (I was a stay at home mom until that time) I retired in 2000 and took up cycling. I have entered the MI Senior Olymics each summer since 2001.In 2002 I qualified for the Nationals inJune of 2003. I ride 5 days a week going about a 100 miles each week. I love it-great exercise.I'm in great health and hope to continue to cycle for many years. I also help out on the farm, now that we bought it from Marion's dad in 1972. I planted most of the soybeans last year. Marion's dad passed away last Oct. at 98. we miss him..
