Janice's Story
Life
I am not getting older. Since graduation I have lived in Florida, Hawaii, California, and Washington and traveled as frequently and extensively as possible. I attended the University of Miami (when it rained), the University of Hawaii, (when it rained), the University of Washington, and Antioch University. I have a BFA in Fine Arts, metal design, and a MA Psychology. My career has been focused in criminal justice, child welfare, and child dependency. I have never been one to try boring professions, or those that would have reaped me the financial rewards to see me into retirement and have therefore worked in the social service/mental health field for multiple years. Prior to sort of becoming an adult and having a "real job" I trained show horses, excercised and trained race horses, and was a scuba tour guide. I have a 27 year old daughter, born in Castle Hospital, and who is attempting to break into the field of fashion design. She is the most amazing thing I have done in my life (AND I snuck into her MySpace and found out that I am her idol). Not much better than mutual admiration,eh? I live with two dogs (a redboned co...Expand for more
onhound-Happy and a springer spaniel-Parker), two iguanas (who shall remain nameless), and a corn snake (Cornelius). I still love to dance as much as possible, I get together with the Kailua Girls in the NW, I travel as extensively and as frequently as possible (and work will allow), and I am still in love with the sun and the beaches. I enjoy the theater and musicals, fine art exhibits, hawaiian dance and music, museums, rock and roll concerts, bodysurfing, and reading hard Sci-Fi. I visit Hawaii , family, and old friends at least every 3 years. My family and friends still have a futon available on the floor when I blow in unannounced from the mainland. Hawaii Aloha at its best. That is synopsis of 39 years post graduation. 39 years? Thats not right is it?
UPDATE: Well my daughter is 35 now so the original story has changed in the past 8 years. The two dogs are gone and there are two new ones. The iguanas died of old age. My daughter has been a flight attendant for 8 years so I fly free. She is married and I will be Tutu/babysitter. Oh yeah, I qualify for Medicare. Whoop! I still have the same job. The rest is the same
