Janice's Story
Life
I was raised in Sudbury with 5 sisters and 4 brothers. I attended Lasalle High School graduating in 1970 from the 4 year Business and Commerce. I married in August 1970 and am the proud mother of two children Dorrie and James. In 1991, I was granted a divorce and moved to Ottawa were I currently reside and work. In 1993 I became a grandmother for the first time, of a beautiful boy named Riley. I am so fortunate to watch him grow up. He is the biggest hockey fan you will ever meet and he loves to play also. In July of 2005 Gracie was born and in December 2005 Brooklyn was born. I also have 3 step grandchildren; Cody...Expand for more
, Tavish and Cameron.
Workplace
I began working for the Canadian Red Cross in 1989. In 1998 the Canadian Blood Services took over the blood collections and distribution. In my role at Canadian Blood Services I manage all h.o. inventory across Canada, supplying all blood centres warehouses with the materials required to run the daily blood donor clinic and the materials to ship blood products to hospitals. I take great pride and comfort in what I do knowing that everyday lives are being saved as a result. Remember everyone...blood is in you to give and be a bone marrow donor. It's painless and you could save a life.
