Janice's Story

Life Hi - I graduated from Osborne High School - Class of '64. I have been a widow since April 2001-my husband of nearly 31 yrs. died from a brain tumor. I have five children - daughter, married with four children (boys - 13 & 16 mos., girls - 12 & 3.) lives in Canadaigua, N.Y. and three sons who live on the home property. A fourth son was killed in March '08. Since my husband's death, I have found that I enjoy traveling. In the last few years I have been to Australia/New Zealand (2003), Alaska (2004), up the Atlantic states into Canada - New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island & Nova Scotia (2005), I also went in June to London on an adult choir trip, traveled down the western U.S. coast from Seattle down to San Diego (2006) and last year went to Rome and Tuscany, Italy. y the pool. I work part-time for Cobb County Board of Elections & Registration in the Absentee Dept. I attend the neighborhood Methodist Church where I sing in the choir and work with missions whenever I can. I enjoy going to see plays at the Fox with friends as well as our "Girls Night Out" with a special group of women that I have worked with for years volunteering at school when our children were there. I like to read and watch movies although I do not care for pictures that bombard you with violence. I enjoy those with a mystery, romantic comedy or a "good" comedy - not vulgar or what I consider tasteless trash. I enjoyed the beach before the hurricanes destroyed much of where I always went. That is pretty much where I am right now - looking forward to the holidays. I always enjoy decorating and having all my family over for Christmas (my favorite holiday). Garden looking pretty good this year even though was late getting it in. Picked my first squash!
