Janice's Story
I went on that long cruise around South America. We went up and down the Amazon, cruised among the icebergs in Antarctica and took the train through the Andes to Machu Picchu. I certainly was grateful for my climbing sticks then. I had such a good time I signed up the next year for another long cruise around the Pacific Rim: Asia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and some South Pacific islands. I learned that I do not do well in hot weather. Nobody went with me--I went solo--with several hundred others who were strangers to me then. and eating healthy food that I didn't have to prep for myself. My favorite part was meeting so many travelers older than me who had enjoyed active traveling when they were younger and who still loved traveling even though they needed more assistance. I loved hearing their stories. It also was great being away from home during the political campaign season. I'm thinking that will be a good idea for the next presidential election.
Now I'm back home for a while, enjoying my place in Kingston, clearing the rubble of years from my basement in Seattle, finishing needlework projects, working 1/4 time at my old job and trying to rehab my knee.
