Janice's Story
Life
I have been married for almost 20 years to Mike Naugler and have lived in the St. Margaret's Bay area (Haliburton Hills) since then. I have three kids, my oldest Ryan is 15 and in High School !! (Sir John A)and playing on the school hockey team. Sometimes he plays against P.A. (Brings back memories!). My second is David who is almost 14 and also a big strong hockey player. My youngest is Julie who is 6, turning 7 in February and in Grade 1.
My family has spread all over the world. My sister Lauren (class of 79) has lived in Australia for over 20 years. She is the mother of 4 kids! My brother John (class of 82), and his wife Mi-Sook, live in South Korea. They hope to move back to Canada in a year or so. My Dad was living in Kingston, Ontario for a number of years, but just recently moved to Vancouver. My dear Mother passed away 10 years ago after a very brief struggle with cancer. For those of you who have lost a parent, especially one who was so young and very healthy all her life, you understand the huge loss this has been in my life.

worked in the insurance industry mostly off and on, and am now self-employed, working about 10 hours a week while Julie is at school. I recently started playing womens shinny hockey, and have been loving it. After so many years as a rink Mom, I had a chance to play and it's a great game. I'm not that good at it yet, but really want to improve.
I have spent the last 15 years or so as well doing a lot of volunteer work, with the schools, hockey and baseball team management, and most recently, we are working with a committee to raise the necessary funding to put a football team at Sir John A. (My kids also play competitive baseball and football in the off season, when they are not playing hockey, and Julie also plays ringette). I have many wonderful friends in my community and so feel quite blessed with my life. After having been a part of an airforce family and moving a lot (we moved to Dartmouth when I was in Grade 10 and away 5 years later)I am happy to have roots in my community.
