Janice's Story
I am a business graduate of Paramount High Pirates, The Class of 1967. I worked many years in the aircraft/aviation industry and for retail/dealer sales as a secretary for management. I married at the age of 22 years, and was married between 1971 and divorced in 1991 at the age of 42. I have three sons, my oldest is Ronnie he was born in 1974 he has been a police officer and he serves in the air force reserves and he is a confirmed bachelor, my second son is Mike he was born in 1977 his devotion is to his wife Lisa and their two daughters, Kaylee and Alyssa and my youngest, Bryan was born 1981, he just married a few years ago to Stephanie Bohr and they have a new baby, Jessie Ray. Bryan works in construction.
After my divorce in 1991, I moved to Arizona, Bullhead City and lived with my parents. When my mother had a stroke, I took care of my father and mother. When my mother passed away in 1997, I moved to New York, Long Island with a man friend that I had meet in Bullhead City. I had been out of working as a secretary for so many years, that I needed to update my business education, so I attended Dover Tech in New York. I graduated with flying colors, that really surprised me. Due to many years of health issues I didn't work very long, I went on early Social Security and now I just reached the age of retirement.
I am now living in a retirement community, Mayflower Gardens in Quartz Hill, California. It is in the Lancaster-Palmdale area and I like it here very muc...Expand for more
h. It is a very quiet community; we have so much here in our own private gated community. I had open-heart surgery in 2005, and I am doing OKAY and the quiet life suit me just fine. I like the retirement of a divorce lady, I can do anything that I like, when I like, and if I don't want to do it, I don't have to. I do enjoy being outside when the weather is nice; the grounds are very nice, beauty, lots of trees, green grass and roses. I haven't done much this year with gardening, but I do enjoy it when I can.
I have been working more on my computer, since I had realized an error on my part of duplicating a loan payment. So, I have been working on finding the unclaimed funds. The financial company appears not to have reported it and they have changed ownership. From this I started working on finding people that have unclaimed funds being held by the State of California Controller's Office. I recovered over $25,000.00 for my family and a few friends from High School. I am now working on the Class of 1967 and then plan to work on the Class of 65 for my sister Jane. I don't know how long I will stay at it; it is really a lot of fun, especially when I find large amounts. I have also searched for members of our community, one woman had unclaimed funds of about $300,000.00. I haven't been able to get in touch with her yet, but I am looking forward to seeing if it is her claims.
I wish all my classmates only the best of regards for their lives and also their families!
