Janice's Story

Life Have lived and worked across the US and abroad for the past 30 years, surprised to realize I've lived in Arizona now for 9 years running. Just might stay, but who knows -- I'm always up for an adventure! I bought my wee dream house here in Arizona though, so if I leave I guess I'll be coming back to retire. I gutted it and spent about a year renovating it myself. (Surprised to find I'm great at tiling, not too shabby at drywall, pretty okay with plumbing, and don't want to learn how bad I could be with electrical work.) I do patient care as a Hospice volunteer and am a sucker for rescue dogs. ent a few months on a volunteer project and hiked it every day I was there, and will raft through it again down the Colorado River when I scrape together a few more pennies -- and I bet I'll never get bored with it. I'm still a working stiff -- haven't won PowerBall yet -- so work rears its ugly head too. I'm Chief Information Officer for the Arizona Department of Education, and on the side I'm part of a small team building the national education data model for the US Dept of Ed. [Okay, ZZzzzz, but to a geek, trust me this is fun stuff! :) ] No kids, but I'm happy to visit friends who have them. :) This has been entirely too much time spent on myself, so I'll leave it there.
