Now Photo was taken on our 63rd wedding Anniversary 9-8-2019. We wed in 1956 the year after I graduated. We met the 4th of July weekend 1952. He and a carload of high school jocks from Hawkinsville, Georgia came to the beaches to celebrate.
We were sweethearts for 67 years, 5 months & 12 days, when "Crow" - Billy Sanford Crenshaw graduated to higher sphere, free of pain & suffering. We both realized early on that our guardian angels were watching over us; we know a higher power was instrumental in our initial meeting and our life together thereafter. We had five beautiful, awesome, brilliant children in less than six years. The four years we were courting, we planned for six children. We both came from families of seven children, and we thought with six there would be no middle child.

After graduation I worked at the fairly new Prudential home office in Jax. my aunt & uncle were actuaries there. That was my first job except for working in our family motel & motor court through all phases of the tourist trade growing up.
Our first home was Goldsboro, NC, an apartment just outside the gates of Seymore Johnson Air Force Base. Our second was Hapeville, Georgia while "Crow" was with Air Traffic Control at Atlanta Airport. He did not receive the training he needed for the job as our daughter was born during that time and was very ill and doctors gave up on her. He had to come home from training. The job was very stressful, and he was helping care for our sick baby when not at work. Soon after a year, we decided that his priority was family, and he happily gave up the dream job. He worked construction, and part-time with U. S. Postal service, until he was hired full-time.
We transferred to Palatka, Florida Feb. 1963 and I was mostly a domestic goddess as we raised our little doorsteps. Son B. Sanford, Jr. our #5 was born that Oct..
