Janice's Story
Janice's schools include Brockton High School. I moved to Provo, Utah in 1967 with my four year old son, Neil. I later attended Brigham Young University. After graduating from Brigham Young University, I taught elementary school in Provo, Utah. I was a single mother with a 10 year old son. Later, in 1977, I remarried and moved to Holbrook, AZ which is a small city on the border of the Navajo Indian Reservation. This was quite a culture shock for me. I taught school in Holbrook for several years. In 1981 I gave birth to my daughter, Rachel, and stopped working for about two years. ce Nuclear Power plant and I taught second grade. We later moved to Peoria, AZ where I again taught school. In 2004 I retired after a long career in education. I am now living in Sun City, AZ, a retirement community near Phoenix. As a retirement gift to myself, I purchased a Gammill Statler Stitcher long arm quilting machine. This is a computer assisted machine. I went into business for myself quilting other people's quilts and I have never looked back. My life is happy and full with 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren in addition to being active in my church and running a busy quilting business.
