Janice's Story
hi, I always went by my middle name Marlene. I live in Iowa, been married for 47 years. I have 2 children, 3 grandsons and one great-grandson. I am semi- retired. It's hard to believe that almost 50 years have passed since we were in high school. My husband, Don, and I owned and operated a small town grocery store for 25 years. Sold in 1990. I also worked in the banking industry for 17 years at the same time.. e legal and went to work in Davenport Ia dealing poker on the first riverboat in the area, cruising 3 times a day. Worked there for one year, then moved to Tama Ia to work at Meswaki Casino dealing poker. I dealt there 10 years, and then when that casino closed for 7 months, we moved to Shakopee Mn to deal poker at Canterbury Park Race track and Card Club. I dealt there until I was 62 and then retired. Moved back to Iowa. Stayed retired two months, and then found a part-time job working in a pharmacy 4 afternoons a week.
