Janice's Story
Life
After high school I attended Red River Vo-Tech in Hope, Arkansas. I then worked at Howard County Hospital for approximately 1 year. Due to cutting back staff, I was let go. I decided to do construction work at that time and traveled out west. I learned how to operate heavy equipment with the help of my step dad, Bill Stewart. I traveled to 26 states in one year. I met my husband Michael in October 1986 in Fernandina Beach, Florida and we were married Dec. 1987. We have two beautiful daughters Sarah Beth and Erin Nicole. to be close to my mother and step-dad, Tom Ensley. I attended Allen County Community College 1998-1999 and received an Associates in Arts Degree. I was a substitute teacher/bus driver for 2 years and decided that was NOT what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I was Meal Site Director for Meals on Wheels for 3 years and Library Director for 1 1/2 in Colony. I have recently changed jobs and now working for the Neosho County Health Department as a billing clerk. I am a 4-H community leader, Sunday School secretary at church, and very active in my community and with my children's activities.
