Janice's Story
Life
I live in Carmel. Was married for 27 years. My husband Gary had his own Manufacturing Rep and Distribution business, Industrial Sales. Gary was diagnosed Feb. 22, 2005 with 4th stage lung cancer and he had never been a smoker. He passed away August 6,2005 so I guess that makes me a widow. My brother Allen ('67) lost his wife to pnuemonia shortly after and sister Julie ('74) is still single. Who would have thought at age 50+ we would all be by ourselves. My Mom died 5 months after Gary. Gary and I have 3 children, Natalie 28, graduated from the University of Indianapolis where she had an athletic scholarship and pitched on the varsity softball team (she's 6 ft. tall!). She just got back this Oct. 2012 from Thailand and South Korea where she taught English. Russell 25, graduated from Carmel, and Ball State. Russ has his own photography business. Russ works for Liberty Mutual for a steady income. Russ has his Real Estate and is working in Real Estate with me at Wall and Assoicates as well. Nate 33, is the sales manager at Ducati Indy. He previously worked at what was his Dad's Company as the inside sales and office manager. He was married 3 years ago in Jamaica. We all spent the week. So much fun being on the honeymoon with them. Nate and his wife Maggie have two twin babies, a girl and a boy. They are just over a year old. My first Grandkids!!
I Survived third stage breast cancer since 1996 and now fighting 4th stage. I worked for CPMorgan (builder) for 4 years and also have worked for several churches helping with young childrens ministries over the years. I was relicensed (real estate) again in 2000. I had given up real estate to raise my children and some of my friends children. Currently with Wall & Associates Real Estate Specialist in Indianapolis, starting my 13th year. I sold some of my rental properties in 2008 and now I am down to 2 rentals properties, 1 in west Indy and 1 in Carmel. I have been unloading the rentals as they are just to much for me to keep up with. I purchased a Florida Villa vacation home in North Port (south of Sarasot...Expand for more
a-north of Ft. Myers) 5 years ago, so I have been going down there when I can. Currently have it for sale as it gets to be too much to keep up with. I plan on spreading my time around a little more in Florida instead of staying in the same place a few times a year.

Thanks.** Don Berry, class of '71 arranged for a class inclusive reunion this past July 2, 2006. For those of you that missed it, sorry we did not get to see you. It was great reminising with old friends. Life is short. I would like to see everyone I can before I pass on myself. Also if anyone would just like to get together I'm sure we could get a small gathering of folks together. I'm up for a mix of class years also. Don Berry planned another mix class reunion this past August, 2011. Great fun again. And HEY IF YOU ARE PLANNING YOUR REUNION AND YOU REMEMBER ME...INVITE ME TOO! I'd like to see as many old friends as I can before I kick the bucket myself. I have lived a great life with a husband that loved me and provided and we have 3 great kids. I just would have liked for it all to last longer, but I am happy with the time I have had and with some prayers and modern medicine I should last a few more years to enjoy getting in touch with old friends, maybe having some more grandchildren, laughing and having a good time and just relaxing a little more.
I took Natalie and Russ to Europe in June 2009 and then Nate and Maggie met us in Ireland for 5 days. We visited 8 countries in 20 days. Natalie stayed and continued on for 18 more days. My sister Julie went with us. Julie and I went on a cruise last year with my office to the Caribbean. That was lots of fun but 7 days did not s long enough. Gary and I had gone on a 7 day cruise before and really enjoyed all the different ports. Julie and I will be going on another cruise Jan. 2013 and hanging out for a while in Florida, which we do a lot of.
