Janiece's Story
A little history......went to Thornydale Elementary, Marana, Tortilita Jr. High, Marana H.S. for 1 year, transferred to Flowing Wells, and graduated from there. My parents divorced in 1984 (freshman year) and life became complicated so I changed schools for a fresh start. After graduation, I "ran away" from home and joined the Navy. That was the best decision of my life and I'll never regret it.
While in the Navy, I spent 6 months in Japan (north & south) and some time in Korea. Yes, join the Navy and see the world. Well, I saw a little of it.
After 8 years of being stationed in beautiful Hawaii (serving in the US Navy) and 3 (cold) years in Boise, I find myself back in Arizona. We just moved to Mesa in December 2000. In 2006, we moved to Johnson Ranch in Queen Creek (yes, Tucson's back door). All I can say is, "Nothing can beat livin' in da islands" even though Arizona will do. Feel free to contact me,(Jmicki, aol and I'm in the phone book).
I'm working for General Dynamics as a Aerospace Engineering Technician in Gilbert, AZ. I'm involved in building some pretty cool stuff (Space Satellites). I even helped test a control board that is involved with the Mars Project.
One thing most would never believe is that I am active with my ch...Expand for more
urch, teach Sunday School, help out with the church youth group, and that I was an active Cub Scout Leader for over 6 years. I currently volunteer with the Cub/Boy Scouts when needed. All of my sons are scouts and I love being a part of it. I have at least one son who wants to make Eagle.
God has blessed my life with a wonderful family. I have been married to Steve Fowler (a fellow sailor) for 16 years and have 3 wonderful boys (Daniel, David, and Derek "Logan"). Gosh, I can't believe 2 of them are teenagers. Thank God they are good kids and act nothing like me=)! If they did half the things I did, I would ground them for life. Luckily I don't have to do that. I will have to cross my fingers until they turn 18!
Life was never easy growing up but somehow I have managed (with a little help and grace from God) to create a wonderful life for my family and myself.
Some things have never changed........still a headbanger at heart and still love to party every once in a while. I'm just a bit more responsible than I used to be.
I'm looking forward to the reunion in August and October. I have some very fond memories of friends from Marana and Flowing Wells. If I don't here from you before the reunion, see you then.
