Janine's Story
Hello, I really didn't have the pleasure of getting to know very many students at Stewart, since I only completed my senior year there. I have to say my year at Stewart was the best out of my entire high school life, and wish I could have enrolled as a Freshman. To those kind and generous people who became friends of mine, I thank you - it really meant the world to me. My yearbook was stolen and destroyed, so I haven't been able to share those memories with my children and grandchildren.
Well, my life has been a busy one since graduation day. I attended Haskell and SIPI, and then met my "Prince Charming" and had two beautiful daughters. I had been employed as an Administrative/Executive Assistant for many tribal and government agencies, that is until 2003. ollow the powwow circuit where they all dance along with their mother. I am so proud of both my daughters, they have grown into such amazing women, and I have been blessed with grandchildren. I never imagined my life would be the way it was, especially since the only things that mattered when I was young and innocent at Stewart was my social life and Jerry Early. Speaking of Jerry, he and I remained close, corresponding all through Desert Storm when he was stationed in Irak. I last spoke with him in 1990, he was still in the Army and was being shipped to Germany. We were supposed to meet before he left, but plans changed. We lost touch, and I hope he is doing fine wherever he might be. I had always been so proud of him and what he accomplished at that time in his own life! I hope everyone from the Class of '80 are doing great, and wish only the best for all! Oh yes, if anyone knows where Otis or Fish are or speaks with them, please tell them I said hello.
