Janine's Story
Life
After graduating from WHS in 1988, I worked for Meridian Bancorp. I married Stephen Weikel (WHS class of 1987) in 1993. In November of 1995, Steve passed away waiting for a heart transplant. In early 1996 I began working for West Reading Ophthalmic Associates. It was there that I met my husband, Chuck, a medical practice administrator. We were married in 1999. ave two dogs, Jake and Ivy. After my daughter was born, I worked from home as a medical biller. In September 2007, I began working as a teacher's aide at a preschool, while both of my children are in school. I am a Girl Scout leader and my husband and I are Sunday school teachers in the toddler class at our church. We are also involved in the non-profit organization, Family Promise of Berks County, helping homeless families find permanent housing. My husband is on the board.
