Janis's Story
Life
Wow...we're creeping up on 10 years, people. 8 intense years since we graduated. I can't believe all that's happened to me since then. Let me try to relay it in bite-sized pieces. ;)
1998: 3 weeks after grad, and 1 week after Cancun, I went to Basic Training for the United States Army.
1998-2000: Studied Arabic at the Foreign Language Institute in Monterey, California. Had an absolute blast living in California!
November, 2000: Married my best friend, Colin, and we moved to Augusta, Georgia where he was stationed. I was given an honorable discharge from the military. We didn't want both of us deployed since a baby was on the way.
May, 2001: Lara was born. Immense joy and happiness followed.
While in Georgia, we bought our first home, made some incredible friends, and Colin's enlistment was involuntarily extended for a year. Not good times, but we managed and when he got out, he had an amazing opportunity.
November, 2002: Mia was born. Our...Expand for more
hearts swelled 100%.
August 2003: We moved to Bad Aibling, Germany. We traveled all over the world and we are happy.
Places visited so far: Paris, Rome, Pompeii, Capri, Naples, Sorento, Pisa, Strasbourg, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Kufstein, Garmisch, Munich, London, Ireland, Disneyland Paris and many other teeny places. :)
Christmas, 2005: I started designing digital scrapbook kits and selling them at The DigiChick. My design dream came true.
February, 2006: Norah was born and all is right with the world. Hearts now nearing capacity. ;)
May, 2007: Started my own non-profit organization "Songbird Avenue" with an amazing partner.
Today, 2007: I have 3 beautiful daughters, a wonderful husband, and a successful graphic design non-profit organization. I couldn't be happier. Things are stressful, but my life has been truly blessed. I can't believe how far I have come and how much bigger my world is right now.
I hope you are all well and happy, too.
