Janis's Story

I am very content with my life and future. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and three great children. I am soon to be a grandmother for the first time. My husband Lisle and have a wonderful life together and we are so happy to be retired in Texas. Lisle and I traveled with our children for 27 years is the military. We were happy to serve this great nation. My kids learned about people from all over the world and learned how to adjust to new places. We moved 30 times in the military. My children went to a new school sometimes every year. Thank God they still love us! I taught school when my children were grown up to go with me. They all ended up majoring in math and becoming teachers. Lisle loves to work out so he has always had us in the gym or outside hiking or running. My family is keen on physical fitness. and people. Megan and Darin were married there. Carrie(32) lives in Austin and teaches math. She is also is grad school. Megan(30) lives in Austin and is married to Curtis. She is a principal but will be quitting to be a stay at home mom. Darin (28) lives with his wife Jessica in San Antonio. Darin works for the airlines and Jessica is a teacher. Like I said, I am blessed! Lisle and I garden, fish, and take care of our yard! It consumes us. Lisle is trying to make me a fisherman. He even bought me a pink fishing pole. My neighbors tease me because I am a city girl. They all hunt, fish, and hunt and fish!!! I am trying to fit in. I just can't hunt anything. It is not in me. They talk hunting and fishing and all I want is someone to go and get a manicure with. No takers so far. I go and visit my girls regularly and we do all that girly stuff! My favorite quote in life is..... "I am as my creator made me, and if he is satisfied, so am I".
