Jann's Story
Moved to Greenville SC in 1982 and found my Life Partner, Best Friend & Husband - we were married 25 years ago. Our life together started aboard a 48 MotorSailer in Charleston SC, and then I/we were transferred to St. Petersburg FL, where we lived for 20 years. During that time, I traveled extensively while running Sales & Service organizations, both domestically and internationally, for Motorola, leaving as Vice President in 2008. Worked with Tyco Electronics, Harris Corporation and several corporations in full-time & consulting roles, retiring at the end of 2012.
Bill & I returned to our "liveaboard" life in 2008, when we purchased a 48' DeFever Cockpit Motoryacht in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico ...Expand for more
and brought her home through the Panama Canal. We have since moved to Marathon FL, in the beautiful Florida Keys, where we have been for last 5 winters, aboard Ivory Lady, a 43' Mainship Trawler.
On April 5, 2014, we began a two year journey with dear cruising friends to complete the "Great American Loop". We made it as far as the Chesapeake Bay this year, left the boats winterized and are spending the winter between our home in the Western North Carolina Mountains and the Florida Keys. We will return to the boats in mid-April, transit through New York Harbor, Erie Canal, Great Lakes into Chicago by September, then down the river system to Mobile and back to Marathon by Winter 2015/2016.
