Janus's Story
Well.....................
After HS I received my BA in Elementary Education and a MA in teaching children with Learning Disabilities and a second MA in Educational Administration at Northeastern Illinois University. I married a man that I met at NIU. I started my teaching career in Morton Grove, IL, taught there for 5 years and started a family. I had 3 children, one boy and 2 girls. My son died of cancer at the age of 4. Our family lived in the North Park area for about 18 years. We were members of St. Hilary in Chicago. I worked part-time, for City Wide Colleges of Chicago teaching disabled adults. I also worked at St Benedict's in Chicago from 1987 to 1991 as their Assistant Principal in the elementary school. I worked in Holmen WI, as the Middle School Assistant Principal, and then the Principal from 1991-1999. I divorced in 1995. Remarried in 1997 and my husband died of an aneurysm in 1998. Moved to Merrill, WI to become the Middle School Principal there. Married for the 3rd time and my husband died of ALS in 2004. I retired from education in 2005. Married for the 4th time in 2005 and moved to Hayward, WI. One of my daughters is married and lives in Nashville, TN and has one child and my other daughter is married and lives in Plover, WI. I am a Catholic who keeps the Lord the focus in my life, a conservative Republican and married to the most wonderful man in the world. Although there have been deep challenges in my life, I have been truly blessed.
