Janyce (Jan) Ellis:  

An Air Force Brat, I attended Woodbridge Jr High, RAF Woodbridge England 8th and 9th grades, and Lakenheath HS, RAF Lakenheath, England 10th and 11th grades, 1st year in dorm 2, 2cd in dorm 3. Dad was stationed at RAF Bentwaters. Never one of the more popular girls, I was, never the less, a member of Lancers International, the Pep Squad, and the Lancerettes Drill team. Didn't date much at school, was seeing a British boy in Ipswich where we lived off base, but no one believed me. Then Dad retired and we moved back to the states to his and Mom's home town of Greenwood, MS where I attended my senior yr, graduating from Greenwood HS, the same HS my parents graduated from along with my 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I met my best friend the first day of school at GHS, Brenda (Murphy) Reeder and we still keep in touch though many, many miles apart. I attended, Mississippi Delta Jr College at Moorehead Ms for 1 1/2yrs but failed out when started dating more and stopped studying. That was a wake up call and I moved to Meridian Ms to attend Matty Hersee Hospital School of Nursing where I graduated in 1979. I was the state treasurer for the Mississippi Student Nurses Association my senior year. Larry Ellis, who I was introduced to by my sister and her boyfriend (now husband) as a blind date in June 1975 and I were married in Aug of 1979. We had 29 wonderful yrs togeather before he went to be with the Lord on Sept 12, 2008 at the age of 54. We moved to DesMoines IA for 5 yrs but then returned home to MS to settle down.
