Jason's Story
After graduation from UNR with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, I went on to graduate school at UC Davis, earning my M.S. in Engineering in 1995, specializing in water and wastewater treatment processes. I started working for Carollo Engineers in Phoenix, AZ in March of 1996. Carollo is a consulting firm that does water and wastewater treatment plant design and construction management. While in Phoenix, I met my wife, Beth at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of North Phoenix, where I was a worship leader (volunteer position leading music on Sunday morning singing and playing guitar). We got married in 2000, and moved to Austin, TX later that year. I had transferred to Austin with Carollo, and was the first person in the Austin office. We lived there a year before buying a house in a northwest suburb of Austin called Cedar Park. I became the worship leader (person responsible for music) at the Capital of Texas Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Austin (volunteer p...Expand for more
osition). Our daughter, Ana Brynne, was born in Austin in January 2006. A little less than a year later, I was diagnosed with a brain abscess, and underwent neurosurgery on January 2, 2007. The abscess had produced swelling in my left motor strip, causing me to lose motor function on my right side from the arm to the tip of my toes. After a couple of months of healing and rehabilitation, I got my right side mobility back, and was back to work full time in March 2007. In November of 2007, we moved into a new house we had built in Leander, TX, immediately north of Cedar Park. This year, our son, Elijah Reed was born on March 29. This next March will be 13 years with Carollo for me, and the Austin office has 20 employees. I am currently project manager for an 8 million gallon a day wastewater treatment plant design for the City of Corpus Christi, TX. I continue to lead worship on Sundays at the same church, although now it is called the Bridge Church of Austin.
