Jason's Story
Life
A couple years after graduating college (U of Calif Berkeley), I went off to Europe in the fall of 1979 to try it out for a year--half in Cadaques, Spain, on the Costa Brava near the French border, half in Paris--and ended up staying the entire decade of the 1980s in Paris, where I worked as a freelance writer and translator and generally lived a near-ideal bohemian life. ll of 1987, when I was beginning to think that maybe I should return to the States after all, I met my wife who was visiting from New York. I moved to NY in 1989 to live with her and we married the next year, around the time we moved to Brooklyn where we have been ever since. I am still a writer, have published a number of literary/scholarly nonfiction books and translations that can be found on Amazon, and have been working on several new books. Each book was like another advanced degree, which I did as well in the 1990s, but that's another story.
