Javier's Story
Life
Upon graduating from Holy Trinity High School in 1987 I attended Roosevelt University and majored in Criminal Justice. Since then I joined the United States Marine Corps and completed my training in 1993. That same year I attended the Illinois State Police Academy and have been a Police Officer in the City of Joliet for the past fifteen years. I currently serve as a Master Patrol Officer and as a Field Training Officer responsible for training new Police Recruits. t and served 5 years as a Crime Scene Investigator. In April of 2000 I was Honored by the VFW Cantigny Post when my partner and I were presented with the VFW Police Officer of the Year Award for distinguished service as a Joliet Police Officer. Other accomplishments include the Joliet Police Department Life Saving Award, The Medal of Heroism and The Problem Oriented Policing Award. I am still serving as a Master Patrol Officer and I am currently assigned to the Illinois State Police Academy as Supervisor for a Police Recruit Class.
