Javier's Story

For all my classmates that remember me, first I need to clarify that I am ONE of TWO Javier Perez's that went to POLY HIGH SCHOOL in 1984. ( I will speak about "Javi" at the end of my story) I went to Fernangeles elementary, then to Byrd jr high. Towards the end of the first semester of 9th grade I got transfered to Pacoima jr high, then to San Fernando jr high, and finally four weeks before the end of the 9th grade year I got transfered to Maclay jr high, but I did not attend. For TENTH, and ELEVENTH grade I attended San Fernando High, and finally for TWELVETH grade I finally came back to my home school POLY HIGH!!!!!! "I was very happy to come back to my home school POLY HIGH, and reconnect with some of my childhood friends!" The last semester of high school I realized I needed additional credits to graduate, so after school I would go to West Valley Occupational Center to learn AUTO UPHOLSTERY. I got my credits and graduated from POLY HIGH but (not on stage) during the summer of 1984 I got a job at CHATSWORTH AUTO UPHOLSTERY I worked there for about 9 years then went to AMCO mfg of convertible tops, then to ROBBINS AUTO TOP CO. I realized that I had a passion for working on cars ( especially auto upholstery and convertible tops) so in 1997 I went back to CHATSWORTH AUTO UPHOLSTERY and ...Expand for more
bought the business from my ex boss, and I guess I will retire from here. I am currently married and have been blessed with 5 beautiful daughters... YES I SAID 5... To everyone that attended POLY HIGH and all my childhood friends, I want to say THANK YOU for being part of my life, I have beautiful memories of growing up with all of you. (even with the guys that we would fight over stupid-inmature things. LOL.. YUP, I also cherish those memories.) About Javi; Many of us that attended the 20th anniversary high school reunion found out for the first time that Javi had passed away, I personally was saddened and impacted by his passing away, not only because we knew each other in school, but because we carried the same name, and even though we didn't hang out together alot, the times that we did were very enjoyable because he seemed to be happy and up to something all the time. One of my greatest memories about him is when we would check out books from the library and he would DELIBERATELY add my middle initial to his name so that they would blame me for not returning the book. In return I would DELIBERTATELY ommit my middle initial and they would blame him, we both knew about it and laugh about it.... we got away with it only a few times.. ("THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD TIMES, JAVI") REST IN PEACE!......
