Jay's Story
Life
After high school worked a few jobs before ending up at Intermagnetics General manufacturing MRI's. I worked making superconducting wire, then went into the Quality Control department. I was with them for 18 years and in 1997 they eliminated my job.
I found work but nothing worth staying with for one reason or another. I have a friend that got me into working on nuclear reactors around the world, as a QC inspector. It was great work and the experiences are unforgettable, but being on the road for months got to me.
For two and a half the last 4 years, I lived just outside of Atlantic City, NJ and then GE needed me in Wilmington , NC for almost two years. I really liked the work down there but I didn't care for the location.
So, I'm off the road after 9 years working as a contractor for GE's Nuclear Division. Finally working locally and HOME. It's good to be home.

ed to a great lady, Colleen, one son and we live in Esperance. We have a nice house and recently bought another and fixed it up. Should be in by September.
We have 60 acres across the road from the house and we make maple syrup in the Spring. Not a real lot about 8 gallons a year, just enough for family and friends. It's a family outing thing for us in February, March & April. Hauling and splitting wood will end any cabin fever you might have, that's for sure.
Just checking back in (2021) I've been working in West Milton for Knolls/Fluor Marine Propulsion since 2010. Changed jobs here a few times. I ran the tool calibration departments for the company for a few years. Teaching civilians and recruits how to use and calibrate high precision measuring devices. They're learning to operate and maintain nuclear reactors in their ships and subs. Great stuff!
