Jay's Story
Life
I joined the Air Force in Aug 1985 right after I graduated. I've have been stationed all over the place including: Texas, Sicily, California, Alaska, Germany, Arizona, and Greenland. I've also been on temporary duty to Cairo, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Panama, Iraq and other places.
I'm currently living in sunny Tucson,Arizona, where I got stationed 1993. Life in the military has been interesting and fun. I may have lived in Amherst but I grew up in the Air Force. Back in school I was the guy you would pass in the hall and never give a second though about, today I'm a total 180 from that. One of the great things about the Military is anywhere I go there is usually an old friend or one close by. Most of my family still lives in the Buffalo area including my brother Jeff Class of 84 and my sister Cathy class of 87. I come home to visit my family as much as I can, but ...Expand for more
love living in Az. I fulfilled a live long dream in 1992 when I got my first Harley, while stationed in Germany, and have been riding ever since. I retired from the Air Force in October 2007 and settled down here in AZ. I've never been married and have no rugrats running around anywhere. Since Sept 11th life in the Military has been alot different. We worked longer hours and had to deal with alot more B.S. than before, but the outpouring of support for G.I.'s gave us a renewed reason to fight on. I currently work for the Air Force as a civilian, teaching troops how to shoot and maintaining the weapons they take to the fight. Even though ÂI've taken off the uniform and wear jeans to work now, always remember that flag still stands for freedom, so I'm still willing to stand next to those who serve, and do what it takes to keep this country free.
