Jay's Story

Life My Job After high school I started fighting forest fires during the summer while going to the U of M. I spent the nextg 10 years (92-01) working for the State of Montana as a Wildland Firefighter. I was given the opportunity to move to northern California in January, to take a fire position working for the Department Of Interior...Expand for more
. I worked for the National Park Service from 2002 until 2007, when I left to take an Engine Captain position with the Forest Service. I cherish my time spent fighting fires. I've gotten to go to Alaska, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. I'm just glad that I ended up with a job I absolutely love. I can't picture myself doing anything else.
