Jay's Story

My life after high school graduation found me continuing my education, by going to the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee. After completing 4 1/2 years of gruelling work, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Those early years were filled with hope and aspirations of becoming rich and famous, in the commerical arts field. Well, that dream eventually disappeared when I found out how difficult it was to break into this career. Eventually I drifted, into the manufacturing field. I found that Quality Inspection and CNC Machining, gave me great satisfaction. In 1975 I fulfilled one dream by taking my first trip to Europe. What a summer I had then, I had a snow ball fight in the Swiss Alps, a beer drinking contest in a beer hall in Munich, sampled some terrific gelato in Italy and bought my first piece of Simon Pierce hand blown Irish glass in Ireland. It was during this trip I experienced my very first summer romance with a pretty, young girl from Madison. This is was the best summer I ever had. During the 70's I was making discoveries in my studing of the ESP/Occult field. It taught me how to look at my life and the world around me in a different perpespective. In the 80's, I became a first time homeowner ( a small 2 bedroom ranch house ) in Bay View. During this period of my life I bought the very first brand new car...Expand for more
. It was a Chrysler Lebarron convertible, with all the options. In the early 90's, I really branched out of myself, I tried my hand, at stand-up comedy. This was a career that doesn't pay well and at this time I still yearned for a more stable income and life. I findly settled down at this time and I got married, to my wonderful wife, Susan. I'm a step-father to her daughter, Nicole and a grandfather, to two grandsons, Donovan and Cullen. Shortly after we got married I sold my home in Bay View and we built our dream home on a beautiful wooded lot in Franklin. Sue and I enjoy traveling all over our beautiful country and which included another trip to Europe for me. 2000's I scratched off another item from bucket list I bought my first Corvette ( a convertible ) and I joined a corvette club. I'm presently the club's recording secretary. My life changed drastically in 2009 when the company that I had been employed at for almost 30 years closed it's doors for good. Jobs were hard to find at that time and so the only alternitive was to take an early retirement. Now in my retirement years, I"m documenting reaearch into my family's history, so that future generations of mine will have some knowledge of their past ancestors. Thanks for checking-up on me and I hope to hear, from my former St. Francis High classmates.---Jay Wesner
