Woodbridge, NJ

Jay's Story

Life What can I say. Lifes ups and downs follows us all everywhere. Worked for Shell Oil company in Sewaren right out of high school till Feb 1994 when they downsized and practically shut the place down. Got married in May 1981. Son, Scott was born July 1982, daughter Stacey was born Sep. 1983 serious birth defect she passed away on July 1984, toughest thing to do under any circumstance is to bury a child. Went to training school in 1994 for computer accounting and bounced around for awhile spent 6 years with The Wiz i.e. cablevision in accounts payable till they folded also. Been heavily involved with bowling associations since 1988 adult and youth. High profile and pretty well known through out the state in the bowling circle. Director on the NJ State USBC BA and Youth Associations. Was a director for local bowling association, progresed up the ladder to president, became secretary, then secretary-treasurer, and now Association Manager for Middlesex County USBC BA & Youth Associations. Was elected to Middlesex County BA Hall of Fame in 2000 in the meritorious service category. My son Scott graduated from Woodbridge High in 2000. He was on the varsity bowling team and was the first boy from Woodbridge to win the Greater Middlesex Bowling Confernce singles championship which he did in his junior year in 1999. with the other honorees of scholastic sports. I still bowl but the work of the association and involvement with the youth part of it keeps me extremely busy. On the other side celebrated 25 years married in May 2006. My wife Erica was a 1974 graduate of Metuchen High School. She went to school with David Copperfield. Unfortunately things haven't gone well lately. She filed for divorce in December 2006, moved out in February 2007.Divorce was finalized on October 18, 2007. I had no idea it was happeneing I didn't see it coming. Started finding things like apartment searches and furniture searches in the paper trash box and finally confronted her and she said she hasn't been happy for sometime now and wants out. I don't wish this to happen to anyone it is so difficult to fight your emotions. My son has stayed with me, And hopefully when all is said and done we will both pick up the pieces and get on with our lives. Amazing cycle that goes on. Lived home for 23 years - 2 years out by myself and 25 1/2 yeras with wife and child now gonna be going back to being single and available - lol. Have no intentions of going out looking again. Getting burned once is enough for me. Hello to all drop an email if you want not dead yet. If my name is in the paper should be in the bowling section and not the obituaries. Class of 1974 lives on.
