Jay's Story
Life
After leaving THS, I went to undergraduate school at UT Martin. In 1984, upon graduating from UTM, I married Suzie and we moved to Memphis so that I could obtain my Ph.D. from UT Memphis working at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Jennifer was born in 1988 in Memphis. After my Ph.D., I took a position at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Jay was born in Pittsburgh in 1992. We then moved to Slidell, LA so that I could take a faculty position at LSU School of Medicine. In 2003, we moved to Lyon, France where I worked for the International Agency for Research on Cancer for one year. e Pharmaceuticals. I travel around the globe with that new job and I loved it! In 2009, I left the big pharma world at Bayer and moved to Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, where I have much more responsibility, and a lot more fun and freedom.
In 2007, Jennifer started at Rhodes College and Jay started highschool. In 2008, Jennifer transferred to Loyola University in New Orleans. Suzie and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. Suzie is a real estate agent in Slidell, LA where we now live.
My hobbies are flying (I'm a pilot), competitive shooting (high power rifle), hunting (mainly bow hunting), and fishing (salt water and fresh water). Three dogs own me: a vizsla (of course) named Red, another vizsla (of course) named Ginger, and a mixed lab named Lucy.
