Teri's Story

Life I live in Oregon and have lived here for 14 years. I really don't miss California at all! Oregon is a beautiful state full of so many amazing things to do. I love to camp, hike, kayak the many rivers here, go to the beach, the desert....I have two kids, a boy 18 and a girl 14 years old. I have homeschooled my kids from kindergarden and now my son is in college and my daughter is a freshman in highschool. We are really close and I simply adore them both! They are really fun and terribly cool (hey, sounds like me....just kidding!) Two years ago I took a job at Starbucks as a barista and I love it!!! It is such a fun place to work and I have met great people and made some wonderful friends there. I hope to be a shift supervisor by this summer, although I hate to be the boss. I would rather just make coffee and talk with customers! For the last three summers I have spent extended time in Nairobi, Kenya serving at a local chuch, voluteering at a orphanage for abandoned babies with HIV and AIDS, and falling in love with the country and its people. I have been on safari twice and seen such incredible sites that I would have to take up way too much space to describe them all! I would love, at some point in my life, to spend much more time there.....maybe full time!? Africa is the most incredible place in the world! The people are so beautiful and hospitable...I love it with all my heart! I took a trip back to California with my family thi...Expand for more
s last December (2004) and visited Palos Verdes High School! What a weird experience! It was the first time I had been back since I graduated! It seemed exactly the same! It was so cool to be there with my kids and show them around a place that had such an impact on my life and to remember friends, boyfriends, and great times! There are so many people that I would love to get in touch with to see how they are and what they are doing with their lives! I can't believe it but I am going to be 40 this year! I have such mixed emotions about it! It sounds so old yet I don't feel or act old so I guess I will just say that it's "just a number" and deal with it! In a funny way I look forward to it because it's great in a way to be 40 and feel fantastic, be active and involved in life and not worry about your age. It happens to everyone, right? So, I will be 40 on July 23 and I am looking forward to it....all I can say is I better get one fantastic birthday party or someone is going to hear about it! ;-) I think that I am going to become a member of Classmates.com because I would LOVE to get in touch with so many from my school and just find out what they have been up to for the last 100 years! Thanks for reading this bio....if you knew me in school in any way PLEASE email me and let's get caught up! I have more room to talk but I don't really know what to say....so ask a question and I will answer.....or better yet..email! Talk to you soon, Teri
