Jayne's Story
Life
Hi,everyone! It's been a long time since graduation 1968. After graduation, I attended secretarial school for
a year. After graduation from there, I became secretary
to a lawyer in Mineola. He did mostly real estate and
wills. I met my husband, John, in 1973 at a CYO dance
in Whitestone. We married in October, 1976. He had three
children from a previous marriage, and we had five
beautiful children, 4 girls and 1 boy, together. He died
in 1991 of lung cancer. I put myself through nursing school after he died. I graduated in 1995 as an LPN. However, I couldn't get a job because I had no experience!! I started working at Local 707, a Teamsters Union, in February, 1996, and am still there, hoping to retire in a few years with a decent pension. My oldest, Lisa, married last year to a wonderful young man. They bought a house in February of this year, about 5 minutes away from me. My second oldest, Andrea, graduated in May from Stony Brook University with a BS in Psychology.
She's currently working in Day Care out in the Hamptons.

hird, Kristina, graduated in May 2006 from Queens
College with her Bachelor's in Math. She is currently a
Math teacher in Great Neck and is pursuing her Masters
at Hofstra University. Number 4, Joanna, will graduate
in May, 2008, with her Bachelor's in Child Care. She
hopes to teach the younger kids, 1st - 3rd grades. My
youngest, Andrew, just turned 18 in July and is
attending the local Community College as he hasn't
decided what he would like to do yet! We live in Holbrook, Suffolk County, and have been in this house
for 23 years. Last year we took a family cruise to Alaska and it was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed
being on the trip together and it was a well-deserved,
relaxing vacation. I also have 8 grandchildren from
my 3 stepchildren. Unfortunately, 3 of them live in
Maine and I don't get to see them too often! Well, for
someone who couldn't think of anything to write, I seem
to have really gotten carried away! Would love to hear
from some of you 1968 grads and find out what you've
been up to! Hope to hear from you soon!
