Jean Calhoun's Story
Life
I was born in Macon, Georgia where I attended the Pleasant Grove and Unionville Elementary Elementary schools. Then I attended the Ballard -Hudson Senior High School and graduated June 1952. I proceeded to attend the Tennessee State University in Nashville,Tennessee for two years. My mother died, I Married and had a daughter namely Letetia Dianna Kemp. Later I began to further my studies at the Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley Georgia. After graduation, I began teaching at the M.M. Burdell Elementary School in Macon, Ga. now living in Dearborn, Michigan and I am still in the field of education as a principal at the Boynton PreK -8 School.

I am a graduate of Ballard - Hudson High in Macon, Georgia. I started college in Nashville, Tenn. and went there for two years. I came home due to the death of my Mom and began to further my education at Ft. Valley State in Ft. Valley, Ga. Where I received my Bachelor Degree. Later,I received my Masters and Administrative certification from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I have continued with further educational studies at Michigan State and the Harvard School for Principals. Now that I am retired I am in the landlord rental business here in the metro Detroit area..
