Jean's Story
I learned so much more out of school, I guess school was the start of my wanting to learn, but only of things that interested me.
WE had five boys, how they all turned out so well sometimes just amazes me. Somewhere we must have done something right.
My husband Bob died of a heart attack on October 21st of last year. Our oldest son Alan, who was 48 at the time was diagnosed with lukemia on the 21st of December.
My life is different, I still work at our business, mostly because it was a place to be after Bob died and now I am more or less running it while Alan is in treatment. Since I am the owner I do get to leave early when we are not too busy, which is mostly in the winter (WE drill and service water wells).
When I get home I spend time in my craft room working on my scrapbooks or now I get to keep up two yards as we have not sold our old house. By the way I have never liked yard work, fortunately Bob did and had a passion for keeping dandilions out of the lawn which I am trying to do at the new house.
I am pursuing them with a vengence.
I still go to a Baptist church and would not to know what to do without some of the many friends that I have m...Expand for more
et thru the church. even with all that has happened to me in the last year God is still good!
If you share any of my interests I would love to hear from you.
As Bob is not here to go with me I doubt that I will be going to the class reunion. We really had planned on going this year as we would have continued on with our vacation after leaving the island.
20 update: I have remarried since the class 55th reunion. I did go to the first night, planned on the dinner, but the man I was going with proposed to me that day and I felt kinda of dumb leaving him that evening to to to the dinner alone. My name is now Englund Have enjoyed traveling more even tho I am till working. Alan (son who had , lukemia) has now been in chemo again since a few days before Christmas. He is dong well and working in between treatments.
My new (to me) husband, Dave likes working in the yard and going anywhere he thinks of at the drop of a hat. We do plan on attending the national gospel quartet convention in September (?) in Tenn. Am looking forward to that as we went to Myrtle Beach a few months ago to one similar to it Really good !! I hope this finds all of you well and happy
