Life FPHS seems so long ago and so much has happened through the years. I lived in Lafayette, Louisiana doing in-house advertising and met my future husband there. We married in 1984, moved to Houston and had a daughter, Caroline, in 1986. Unfortunately, as so many marriages do these days, mine fell apart and I moved back to Beaumont with Caroline to start over. I launched a career in public relations and worked for Baptist Hospital, St. Elizabeth and Beaumont Neurological. In about 1994 I moved back to Houston and went to work for a global PR firm (Hill and Knowlton). I worked for about 10 years on the agency side before taking a job as head of corporate communications for Clear Channel Entertainment. When the parent spun off the company, everyone was let go. Really a tough experience and I spent the next year consulting and pursuing a job in California.
