I am a retired museum director with a passion for history. My husband, Mark, is retired and had his own General Contracting business for 33 years. We have been married 50 years June 5, 2020. Our 50th anniversary party has been delayed due to COVID-19. We moved from the Eastern Shore of Virginia into Woodlawn Plantation, Halifax County, Virginia on a full- time basis in 2012. Historic Woodlawn Plantation was built in 1779, and we have been restoring it since 2002. We still own a beach house on the Chesapeake Bay, The Eastern Shore of Virginia. I miss seeing the shore birds everyday and our sandy beach.
We have three children. Scott,,39,, a history graduate of Va Tech University. He enjoys reenacting and is a Joiner for Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Virginia. ghter, Cora, age 2. Matthew, 38, is, a history graduate with a post graduate degree from Va Tech University. He enjoys reenacting and lives in Portsmouth, Virginia with his wife, Juliann, and their two children, Stirling, 4,, and Georgiana, 2. . Matthew works for the Virginia Dept. of Taxation and Juliann writes contracts for the Federal Government. Jaclyn , 31, attended Virginia Commonwealth University and resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she has her own photography business, Jaclyn Krogh Photography. She also paints and has a passion for surfing. She recently became engaged to Bryan Hopkins, and they are planning a 2021 wedding.
My passions are restoring Woodlawn, collecting 18th century antiques, gardening and spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren. I became a Master Gardener to better restore the Pleasure Gardens and Bowling Green here at Woodlawn. We host tours the third Saturday of June and Woodlawn Holiday Tours in December. We are members of St. John's Episcopal Church, Halifax, Virginia.
