Jeanette's Story
Life
I haven't strayed too far from Hicksville. I bought a co-op in Great Neck two years ago and enjoy the town, but it's a little too quiet for me sometimes. When looking to buy, I figured it had the best commute to the City (I worked in Manhattan at the time) and it was pretty much a self-contained village. You can get almost anything within walking distance. So now that I both work and live on LI, I try to get to the City as much as possible.
I have a nice group of friends, whom I have known from grammar school on up to my present job. I most enjoy nice dinners and live music, plays, or just walking around the city. I spend a lot of time working out or playing sports - tennis, golf, biking, hiking, etc. I love the beach and dream of a summer beach house.

ob as public affairs director for New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury. Before that I was with United Way of NYC, starting on Sept. 10, 2001, believe it or not, and quickly became involved in a challenging but rewarding experience raising money for the victims of that horrible day.
I was married once but no longer. No children but still hopeful the train hasn't left the station. That's all for now! :-)
Workplace
I've spent my career split between publishing and public relations. For the last 10, I've worked in agencies, then moved inhouse to United Way, and now NYIT. I don't miss the agency life AT ALL.
The job I have now has all the elements I've been waiting for: It's been a big step up and one I finally (after 6 months) have gotten comfortable with.
