Jeanette's Story

I have been involved in the Schizophrenia Society of Canada for a few years but have moved and am living in Florida at the moment. I liked to do advocy work for the Society. I was married for 13 years and am divorced. No children. I have had a lot of people ask If I could what would I change about my life... My answer ... not a thing! My reason... I LIKE who I am and if I change something what would I be changing about myself? You are the person you are because of the things you have been through in life. I love to read, do puzzles (jigsaw and logic), the beach on a cloudy day (lol hate the heat),and I love life. Living in Newfoundland for 16 years made me hate the cold (-30c to -40c is the coldest I have ever been in) but cannot stand intense heat... lol and look where I live!! INTERNATIONAL HEALTH CARE... I am shocked at the state the united states...Expand for more
health care! I have lived in canada for 16 years ... moved back here and was floored at the health care system. I have lived in boath worlds and beleive me ... the Canadian system is a thousand times better. I here people say that in canada you have to wate forever to see a dr. I hear all kinds of things that are not true. My point ... Is it the americans that are saying they don't want change ... or is it the insurance companys that making billions putting these ideas out there? All I know ... we will be moving back to canada in about 6 months for the better social system and better health care. If I won $100 million, I'd give 2 million of it to Mental Health Care, then spend the rest on family, friends and travel. My current age is 52. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be lol old wrinkly and drooling . I was so completely wrong .
