Life
I'm married with 5 kids & are they ever getting old! The oldest will be 41 this year (2010) & the youngest 25! I also have 4 stepkids ages 48 to 55 (they're getting old too!). This summer my 14th grandchild will arrive. Dick & I live near Columbus, OH. Both of my married daughters live within 2 blocks of us so the 6 grandkids are in & out all the time. I'm GeGe to the grandkids. That stands for Goofy Grama & I try to live up to that! I love living so close to them & having them such a presence in our lives. Dick finally retired from the FAA in 2008 at the age of 81! He is now home driving me nuts (maybe I should say nuttier). I'm not working as an RN but am managing a warehouse--that makes sense doesn't it? I enjoy it and if nothing else I'm not being exposed to all kinds of diseases.
There is always something going on with one of my kids, grandkids, or friends & I am very busy. I always say "at least I'm not bored!". If I'm not busy with someone else I keep myself busy with one of my many projects--gardening, carpentry (simple furniture), sewing, reborning vinyl dolls, making porcelain dolls, or remodeling my house. My last major project was moving my kitchen to a new room, tearing out a wall to join ...Expand for more
the old kitchen with the family room, splitting the existing 28' long family room into 2 rooms, & moving the back door. All done while Dick was gone for 3 weeks & without him knowing about it before I did it! It was quite a surprise to him when he returned home but now he's glad I did it especially since he wasn't here for the mess or any of the work!
Right now we have 5 dogs--don't even ask how we ended up with so many. Our biggest is Bella, a Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever/Something mix, who weighs in at 140 lbs! She's very mellow & calm--thank goodness. Our smallest is Buster, a Pom, who weighs not quite 4 pounds. He rules the roost & thinks he weights 140! The other 3 all weigh between 6 & 20 pounds & totally obey Buster. We also have a cat. It used to be worse with hampsters, snakes, mice, & a rabbit!
As you can probably tell I'm not bored :) & I enjoy my life. I don't feel like I celebrated the 32nd anniversary of my 30th birthday last Dec (2009). I have no idea where the time has gone or how I got to be this old. It just seems like yesterday I was in high school. I'd love to hear from you. Everyone take care & remember: Pray.
