Jeanette's Story
When I was at Point Loma I was very focused on drama and speech classes. My name was Jeanette Hanna. Shirlee Johnson and I enjoyed entering competitions of other schools in Southern California in drama and speech.
I started dating a senior, Gene Allen after the first dance in 1950 and never dated anyone else all through highschool. s an administrative assistant and then got into insurance. Eventually I landed at General Dynamics as a programer in Cobolt. I soon moved into their education department, teaching computer software classes and communication and speech classes. I got headaches doing the programming but really flourished in the classroom as I think that is where I am most comfortable. He made me feel special and he was also very special so we brought out the best in one another. We got married after our kids were grown up ; he had three girls and I had three boys. We never got all six of them together before we each lost one to cancer and heart disese in their forties. I live in a senior mobilehome park with my kitty and we get along quite well.
